Every volcano can collapse

Any volcano in any form, even volcanoes underwater or on other planets, can experience some form of collapse. A good compilation of volcanic landslides can be found here on the Global Volcanism Program website.

On the map below, each red triangle indicates the location of a volcano. There are about 1,500 volcanoes known on land. Of these, 50-70 erupt each year. This does not mean that these volcanoes will collapse in our lifetime, but there is a lot of potential for a collapse to occur!
